Thank You for Taking it to the Limit (the credit limit, that is)
Yep, we got ourselves an economic crisis going’ on.
The American Dream just got interrupted by the alarm clock of inevitable destiny.
Are we awake yet?
We are giving our houses back to the banks (because we didn’t really own them in the first place.).
All that stuff we bought with our hard earned dollars is suddenly falling apart or losing its capacity to make us feel like we have power over paucity.
We can not earn enough money to cover the cost of gas to get to work to buy more stuff.
Americans are living on the edge of their credit limits and on the threshold of their sense of consumer well being.
It’s time to reevaluate our investments.
Most of my investments have turned out okay on account of I did not buy very many things, I mostly invested in experiences, travel, and other human beings. The bank is not asking for any of it back.
If you are going to acquire debt for something that will last longer than the paper work it takes in this economy, I would put my money into buying Time Shares.
And by Time Shares, I mean time to share with others. The best thing money can buy is Time. And time seems to collect far more interest on your behalf than the bank’s.
So take it to the Limit one more time…
A METAPHOR AMERICA
Lyrics by the Eagles:
All alone at the end of the of the evening
And the bright lights have faded to blue
I was thinking ’bout a woman who might have
Loved me and I never knew
You know I’ve always been a dreamer
(spent my life running ’round)
And it’s so hard to change
(Can’t seem to settle down)
But the dreams I’ve seen lately
Keep on turning out and burning out
And turning out the same
So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time
You can spend all your time making money
You can spend all your love making time
If it all fell to pieces tomorrow
Would you still be mine?
And when you’re looking for your freedom
(Nobody seems to care)
And you can’t find the door
(Can’t find it anywhere)
When there’s nothing to believe in
Still you’re coming back, you’re running back
You’re coming back for more
So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time
Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit one more time
