Thank You for Unearthing the Chthonic Muse
I have a new muse.
The nine traditional muses are not oriented toward my personal needs;
Calliope: epic or heroic poetry
Clio: muse of history
Erato: love or erotic poetry, lyrics, and marriage songs
Euterpe: music and lyric poetry
Melpomene: tragedy
Polyhymnia: sacred song, oratory, lyric, singing and rhetoric
Terpsichore: choral song and dance
Thalia: comedy and bucolic poetry
Urania: muse of astronomy
I decided I needed a muse to inspire creativity from the deep underworld that is my internal generator of meaning, and exploration of symbolic significance and mythology.
Well I have my muse, and I found a new artist as well!
The amazing artist, who can call upon the Chthonian like no other I have seen in person, is now one of my favorites.
His name is Corey Urlacher.
I bought this piece of his work a couple years ago, titled The Cameo.
In my home, I have named her Althea, the muse of contemplation of the mortal coil.

I like the piece, can’t wait to see it in person. And, I like that you named and defined your own muse. I can’t think of anyone else I know that would do such a thing. I guess you did it onaccountayacan. L.
that’s a pretty awesome muse
