Thank You for Compulsion vs. Propulsion
Sometimes we are driven to accomplish some thing or another.
Sometimes we are driven by some thing or another that doesn’t accomplish anything except running us in circles.
The best way for me to differentiate between propulsion and compulsion is to look at where it is taking me.
If I am heading into a direction that benefits my life, it’s probably propulsion at the wheel.
If I’m just walking in circles, doing the same thing over and over, it’s more than likely that compulsion is driving my vehicle.
The pro and com of my pulsion sometimes balances out, but I prefer to be a pro more than a com.
It just feels more productive, more psychologically healthy and less powerless.
I have never heard of anyone seeking psychiatric help for obsessive propulsion disorder.
Thank you for making Dave and me laugh. We need your ability to dissect the language to help us through some of our more mundane days. L.
Cool. I just came up with what I thought would be a very fav-able tweet: “Obsessive Propulsion Disorder: Jetpack addiction” and googled it, to see if somebody else came up with that.
Maybe we’re psychically linked or lost twins, with months of lag…
