Thank You for The Know-It-All vs. The Say-It-All vs. Dummies

I am not a Know-it-all.

I’m more like a Know-just a-little-bit-about-some-things-because-I-lived-for half-a-century-but didn’t-quite grasp-the-whole-picture-yet kind of gal.

Some folks are accused of being a Know-it-all for merely verbalizing things that others don’t verbalize.

Maybe a Know-it-all should be called a Say-it-all, instead.

Of course, a Say-it-all gets on people’s nerves as much as a Know-it-all.

Sometimes I don’t even know if I know something until I’ve said it aloud.

Sometimes I say something out loud just to test it for knowledge.

Sometimes I know things that I never say out loud.

But most of the time, I just yammer on whether I know something or not.

It’s not that I am a Say-it-all or something. It’s just that I am fond of the human voice, and how it accommodates connecting one to others.

I like the way humans share personal observations and experiences with one another through their vocal chords.

I like to be a Listen-to-it-all sometimes too.

It would be great if we all had the power to Mind Meld, like Spock,

but…we don’t.

Naw, actually, I don’t think I’d enjoy going up to folks and spreading my fingers all over their faces.

Yeah… no, I don’t want anybody pawing my face to probe my brain either.

So I’ll just stick to acting like a know-it-all, verbalizing what’s on my mind, so folks don’t have to reach in and grope my brain to figure out what I’m thinking about.

I promise to try to avoid being a Say-it-all, but I’m gonna have to figure out another way to connect with others who I find interesting enough to share  thoughts with at parties.

Maybe Ventriloquism is it!

Yeah, that’s it!

I’ll throw my voice across the room, letting some unsuspecting potential conversationalist avoid the potential heartbreak of being confronted with a Know-it-all.

Yeah, I’ll just act like a “Dummy”.
