Thank you for the Difference Between Powerful and Strong.

Our innocence, our joy, our fragile vulnerabilities are to be guarded by the strong, lest we become prey to the powerful.  –Iscedit

With Mother’s day coming up, I think it may be a good time to reflect on this incredible, on-the edge-of-my-seat video sent to me by my friend, Bev.

Caution: This made me cry.

PS

Iscedit is actually Lea Kelley in Greek mythology—I made that up.

  1. Thanks Bev – thanks Lea. Powerful video.

A great quote to reflect on.

  2. Omigod!!! My heart was in my throat through the whole thing until the tears of relief came!! Thank you Lea and Bev for a real heartwarmer!!

  3. I was talking to my brother last night, and he was telling me about the movie “The Bear” and how I had to see it. It turns out this clip is from that movie. It also won an academy award of some kind I think.

The animals, both the orphaned black bear cub, semi-adopted by that huge male grizzly, and the mountain lion were all semi-tame rescues (or something) of the film-makers.

This particular day, although they did set up some of this, nature simply took over–so what we see here is completely real, in a “we set this up and now we have no control over what may happen, OMG!” type of way–if I have it straight.
    .
Apparently, according to bro, the rest of the movie is absolutely fascinating, and available for renting. Once in a while, a forwarded email is a good thing.

  4. To clarify a bit, I think they thought they had more “control” over the cat, but once the hunt began–they had none, nature took over, so what plays out from there became very real very fast.

Gotta rent the rest of this, I have always been fascinated by both Grizzly Bears and Cats of all kinds.

    Glad you enjoyed it!
