Thank You for Boot Straps

Do NOT pull yourself up by your boot straps, or you WILL fall on your ass!

Nobody gets here on their own.

Period.

Many of us have conquered challenges and learned great recipes for proverbial Lemonade but who among us can truly say “I did this on my own, I never got help from anyone, It’s all me, I am just that strong!”

If you can honestly say those things, I think maybe you might be in need of a shoe shine on those boot straps.

Then you can see yourself (and all the people you have met along your path) in a clearer reflection.

I am so thankful for all the mending of my boots by strangers, loved ones, employers, teachers, and shoe shine mirrors that have contributed to my life as I know it.

These boots are made for walking.

Boot straps are just for talking.

Living is a team sport.

WOW! i think I am going to put a pointer to this post today…
I went to my doctor recently and actually told her that my “bootstraps” were gettin’ a bit threadbear. I totally believe we all need a little help from our friends!

  3. Ahhhhh…..wonderfully said, but, conversely, for some, it may be important to know they have some bootstraps and the strength to pull themselves up by them, even if they are made of borrowed leather.
